Tuesday, two days ago in early morning, a torrent surged down the Dnipro river without warning,
War weary watchers looked on with fear and an aching tragedy of heart, when on the seventh of June the Kakhovka dam was blown apart.
It’s walls split asunder by high explosive charges with forty thousand forced to flee, as Kakhovka’s precious fresh water floods homes and farms then empties wasted into the Black Sea.
The dam tragically damned, Ukraine’s water of life destroyed by such damn human stupidity.
Four-point-four cubic miles of drinking water, roaring, increasingly polluted and useless down the Dnipro river, hundreds of thousands of people across the Kherson region pray that their kin, friends across the world and God will deliver.
Now on the ninth of June they are shelling both rescuer and evacuee, mines keep blowing up on a flooded battlefield disrupting the efforts of saviours, all lost every home, crop, livelihood and tree.
The dam tragically damned, Ukraine’s water of life destroyed by such damn human stupidity.
