Yah’shem, also known as Shemyaza or Samyaza, is a fascinating figure among apocryphal Abrahamic traditions. It is well worth delving into the folklore surrounding this fallen angel:

Both the names Shemyaza and Samyaza are subject to intriguing interpretive meanings:

“The (or my) name has seen.”
“He sees the name.”
“I have seen.”


In legend, Azza (an alternative name for Samyaza) is the seraph tempted by the maiden Ishtar to reveal to her the 'Explicit Name of God'. In Solomonic lore, Azza was the angel who revealed the heavenly arcana to the Jewish king, rendering Solomon the wisest man on earth.
There were two groups of angels led by Metatron, one of those groups, 'the angels of justice,' came under the rulership of Azza, yet to have fallen at this point.

According to the rabbinic tradition, Azza hangs suspended between Heaven and Earth alongside Azazel in punishment for having gained carnal knowledge of mortal women. He is said to be constantly falling, with one eye shut and the other open, to see his plight and suffer the more. It is said that he now hangs, head down, and is the constellation of Orion.

Uzza (said to be another name for Samyaza) is the tutelary angel of the Egyptians.

Before the fall, Ouza (said to be another name for Samyaza) was of the rank of Seraphim.

References to the phenomenon of fallen angels are mainly found in works dating back to the Second Temple period between 530 BC and 70 AD: namely the Book of Enoch, the Book of Jubilees and the Qumran Book of Giants; also alluded to in Genesis 6:1–4.

During the period that represented the prelude to the rise of Christianity, intercourse between the Watchers and human women was frequently viewed as the first fall of the angels. indeed, Christianity kept faith with the Enochian writings until at least the third century AD. Many respected Church Fathers, among them, Irenaeus, Justin Martyr, Clement of Alexandria and Lactantius, accepted the equation of the angelic descent to the sons of God passage in Genesis 6:1–4.

There is also, a reference to heavenly beings called "Watchers" in Daniel 4, in which there are three mentions, two references in the singular (v. 13, 23), one plural (v. 17), of "watchers, holy ones".

The Book of Daniel is a biblical apocalypse authored during the 2nd century BC, and set during the 6th century BC. The work describes "the activities and visions of Daniel, a noble Jew exiled at Babylon"; in which a portrayal of a historical prophecy being fulfilled is inserted followed by a prediction of future cosmic and political turmoil.

The letter Y (Yod) is a remarkably confused modern englishized interpretation of how to pronounce the 9th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It would better be replaced with the spanish "J" as with "Jerusalem" (Englishized as Ierusalem/Yerusalem/Herusalem) for the sake of pronunciation.

The letter H (Hey/Hay) is often thought silent when found at the end of a word in Hebrew, but can be thought of as equivalent to "ah" or "ey" in english.

The letter V (Vav) requires no further explanation, except that in ancient times it was not called "Vav" but simply "Vey/Veh"

Putting this together, the YHVH is most correctly englishized (for pronunciation sake) as "Hahvey", however I find that spanish speakers will most correctly utter the true name of the Lord when they read "Javi".

Some of you may notice that this is quite similar to the Latin form of the roman god Jupiter, which is "Iovis"/"Jove". This is quite an astute observation, and points towards the true lineage of this roman mythology as being a malformed descendant of the ancient Hebrew cosmology mixed with that of the ancient greeks. This Zeus equivalent took on the name of the God of the Hebrews, called the "Greatest" god, because the greeks associate their greatest god, being zues, with the largest (or the "greatest") planet, being what we call Jupiter.
