Reality
Re: Reality-Esher
The Penrose triangle, also known as the Tribar or impossible triangle, is an impossible object, first created by The
Penrose Triangle Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvard, popularised by Roger Penrose, and later featured prominently
in the works of artist M.C Escher.

And this Escher.....Re: Reality
I love all his work..

Another example of Penrose's 'Impossible Triangle' with Dice..

The Magic Sierpinski Triangle
Order dependent on randomness
This design is called Sierpinski's Triangle (or gasket), after the Polish mathematician Waclaw Sierpinski who
described some of it's intersting properties in 1916. Among these is its fractal or similar character .
The large blue triangle consists of 3 smaller blue triangles, each of which itself consists of 3 smaller triangles, each of which..., a process of subdivision which could, with adequate screen resolution, be seen to continue indefinitely. Fractuals and self-similarity are of
considerable interest in their own right, but our interest here is how to construct Sierpinski's triangle.
One way to do so is to inscribe a second triangle inside the original one, by joining the midpoints of the 3 sides, and then repeat the process for the resulting three outer triangles, for the
three outer triangles that result from that, and so forth. But there is a more intriguing way to construct Sierpinski's triangle, sometimes called the "Chaos Game."

Renaissance Occult Illustrations. Robert Fludd, Utriusque cosmi maioris scilicet et minoris metaphysica atque technica historia, 1617
Robert Fludd's Union of Spirit and Matter
Creation, in the eyes of renaissance occultist Robert Fludd, emanates from the union of two opposite forces: the creative power of God impressing itself upon a receptive anti-substance he called the Hyle.
THE HYLE
Defining the Hyle is difficult, if not potentially impossible. In his own words, Fludd states that 'it cannot be understood in isolation, nor described by itself alone, but only by analogy.' It is essentially not created, but is the material from which created things spring. It is definitely not separate from God, as a concept off this kind would have been alien to Fludd. Yet in many respects it is comparable to God given that the phenomenon is boundless and undefinable.
Were we to analyse the Hyle more closely we might be moved to suggest that it is a part of God, the dark void existing in direct opposition to the creative power most commonly associated with God. It should be noted that the Hyle is in no way evil. Perhaps, in actual fact, it is the essence of not being anything: in other words infinite non-existence. Neither half subsumes the other, indicated by the fact that although the Hyle circle and the triangle of God intersect, they also both exist outside the boundaries of each other.
INTERSECTION OF HYLE AND GOD
The created universe exists wholly within the union between the circle and triangle. No element of creation can exist without opposite forces: spiritual and material, receptive and active, creative/existing and destructive/non-existing.
At this intersection we find the three realms of renaissance cosmology: physical, celestial and spiritual. Although they are more commonly portrayed as concentric rings, where the superior spiritual realm is the outermost and the inferior physical realm the innermost ring, here they are depicted equally. This should not be interpreted as Fludd changing his mind but more a dictate of the limitations of symbology. In fact he needs to lay them out in this way in order to display their associations with the tetragrammaton defined below.
THE TETRAGRAMMATON
The unpronounceable name of God, known as the tetragrammaton, is made up of four letters: yod, he, vau and he. Fludd associates each of these letters with one of the realms, with the repeated 'he' letter being set in the middle, outside of any of the three realms yet at the center of God.
