We are as June beetles attracted to the light, but if the light be white, we hurl ourselves headlong toward it, however if the shining is of red-yellow spectrum then orange is of little appeal. Yet the Sun is essentially a melange of all colours together, which appear to our eyes as white. Easy to see in pictures taken from space. Nonetheless us humankind have a fondness for Rainbows, which are light from the Sun, separated into its constituent colours. Each colour in the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet) having a different wavelength.
