Neither the Torah nor the Testament of Christ explicitly call for predestination.

As a scholastic, I believe that Yahuwah rules indirectly, through a set of laws that he created in order to govern the universe and give it structure.

Everything we do, then, is cause and effect based off of what happened in the past and what we do now.

A most Interesting conversation is this one. Yes indeed life is a canicula but in the end you get on with it BeN1, to translate from the German into English with a word of latin included. Schizophrenia is a disorder many are saddled with, but even that statement represents a a huge, huge range of people and problems. Indeed possibly the only group of people who can remotely understand what it feels like to have the brain began playing tricks on us, be shouted at by unseen voices, permanent newsreel broadcast or unseen orchestra in our heads, plus a heavily fogged as if lost the capacity to feel emotions, and ability to reason logically has been lost, are recovering alcoholics and drug addicts who actually make it out of the other end of the cold turkey tunnel alive. I know this because I am a member of that company and proud of it.

Are we preordained, well my own view and one which in a way concurs with Nazheek's view but is different, is that in spirit we have all lived multiple lives over history and the creative spirits that we feel kindred with are all part of that onward transferred essence. In other words, our present bodies are merely conduits with the higher power controlling the scales of positive and negative energies. For example you quote Shakespeare, 'All the world's a stage....' and how perspicaciously prophetic that statement has proved to be in zeitgeist terms, however while my admiration for Shakespeare's penmanship knows no bounds, my kindred fondness is for his contemporary Christopher Marlowe. Not only was Marlowe deemed to have written certain of Shakespeare's plays by a specific school of English literary scholars, a theory with which I disagree due to a comparatively shorter life span and perhaps a more lofty less-than-every-person style on Marlowe's part, however I do often believe that he is trying to work on through my personal physiology based on the nature of some of my ideas and scribblings. Or might that sense merely be ascribed to a strong Marlowesque influence on me? My defence being that my regular prose style is as you read it, here and now.

So my belief is that we have all lived many lives before this one and there is a permanent struggle to balance all the good and bad energies associated with our past existences, perhaps a little like carbon credits, and we are the physically formed pipeline for this balancing act.

Anyway, I leave you with Christopher Marlowe's CV along with a brief quote from his magnificent play Dr Faustus:

Lady Mary Wroth (18 October 1587 – 1651/3) above was an English poet of the Renaissance. A member of a distinguished literary family in the Elizabethan age. Her father was Robert Sidney, 1st Earl of Leicester and Viscount Lisle of Penshurst Place, a poet and governor of Flushing, Netherlands and she was also niece to Sir Philip Sidney, a famous Elizabethan poet-courtier and 2nd cousin to Sir Walter Raleigh . Lady Wroth was among the first female British writers to have achieved an enduring reputation. She is perhaps best known for having written The Countess of Montgomery's Urania, the first extant prose romance by an English woman, and for Pamphilia to Amphilanthus, the second acknowledged sonnet sequence by an English woman. Wroth's works also include Love's Victory, a pastoral closet drama. Most certainly a contemporary of William Shakespeare in his later years.
