Ah yes, Hope. UFO's, the topic of which I have studied my entire life. More of an obsession then a hobby for me actually. This topic is one I've thought about since I can remember.

I have plenty to share on this thread. Much obliged for this post. I was wondering when the topic of UFO's and extraterrestrial beings would be brought up.

I had an experience/sighting three nights ago on Tuesday 28 May
2019 at 23.48 that has really freaked me out to say the least.

I'm a HGV driver by trade based in Liverpool and that night I had
two deliveries on a double deck trailer, the first being Penrith,
the second Whiteheaven, it was quite a clear night that evening and
even at that time there was still some light left in the sky, as I
approached Bassenthwaite lake I noticed up ahead something flying
at a slow speed from left to right what I could only describe as a
very thin pencil with a dim yellowish light at either end and some
sort of light that was even dimmer in the middle.

I remember saying out loud to myself something like 'God, that's
low' as I thought it was a helicopter; the general spot it came
from there's a small farm house with a small field with some cows
in and behind that there's a large mountain.

As I approached, the object had crossed the road and had become
partially hidden behind a large tree; maybe a couple of seconds
lapsed before I cleared the tree and upon looking up through my
off-side/drivers window I witnessed a perfect triangular craft
with a dim yellowish light at each corner travelling very slow,
maybe 30 mph, I'm not sure what that is in airspeed.

The triangle craft had no or very little sound as I had my window
half down and no strobe lights and I would estimate about 80 to a
100 feet from point to point; it then flew over the lake heading
in a north east direction, the experience lasted maybe no more
than ten seconds and even though there's a lay-by a bit further
on for some reason I didn't stop, I think if I'm really honest
I was scared and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

I've always been interested in UFOs but this experience has well
and truly freaked me out and I can't help thinking to myself if
it really happened; but I definitely know that it was real and
as a HGV driver I have regular drink and drug tests and I'm
of sound mind.

I made this report because I needed to share this experience
and after Googling I got a result on this website from someone
else who witnessed a similar craft whilst travelling on the A66
last year."

Extraterrestrial engagement upward and onward, Dave Denison triggered a thought process by mentioning the Phoenix [His suggested links are beneath] in the close encounters context and while it may not be exactly the same train of thought as the very venerable himself has. I've decided to delve into the mythology of that auto-reinvigorating avian on the basis that the story has many aspects that imply some form of alien visitation.

It represents transformation, death, and rebirth through its firey demise and restoration. A powerful spiritual totem, the phoenix is the ultimate symbol of strength and renewal. As both a fire and solar symbol, the phoenix animal guide is symbolic of the sun, which “dies” in setting each night only to be reborn in rising the next morning.

The fabled bird is said to live 500 years or more, and when the old bird is tired, it flies from Arabia to land in Heliopolis, Egypt, the “City of the Sun.” There, it gathers cinnamon twigs and resin to build a nest of spices atop the Temple of the Sun. The sun ignites this nest and the old phoenix dies in flames.

Now to me this almost smacks of a rocket launch pad and the fact that what would be construed as a bird given that it would be the only viable form of comparison for an ancient people. Seeing the Phoenix rise restored into the heavens upon a fire so bright enveloped by a pall of smoke, would definitely give the impression that the 'bird' had been consumed by the flames only to be born again as a graceful dhape (or an alien space-freighter) on its way back to some distant star system.

Now the fact that this spectacular visitation only took place every 500 years, leads one to expand more cogently on the alien star-voyager theory. The farthest planet from Earth in our solar system is Pluto an average distance of 2.7 billion miles from the Earth, therefore on the basis that it took the New Horizons spacecraft 9.5 years to reach Pluto, it is credible to suppose that this trip departs from a far flung galaxy much closer to the sun



In China, an ancient culture (The Chinese Bronze Age had begun by 1700 B.C. in the kingdom of the Shang dynasty along the banks of the Yellow River in northern China) the story has a slightly different twist. The Chinese equivalent of the Phoenix had males who were originally called feng and the females huang, but often in the modern era the distinction of gender is no longer made and the duo are merged into a single feminine entity so that the bird can be paired with the Chinese dragon, which is traditionally deemed to be male.

Greek historian Herodotus, born in what was the forerunner of modern-day Bodrum in Turkey, wrote a relatively sceptical account of the phoenix the 5th century BC:

“[The Egyptians] have also another sacred bird called the phoenix which I myself have never seen, except in pictures. Indeed it is a great rarity, even in Egypt, only coming there (according to the accounts of the people of Heliopolis) once in five hundred years, when the old phoenix dies. Its size and appearance, if it is like the pictures, are as follow:– The plumage is partly red, partly golden, while the general make and size are almost exactly that of the eagle. They tell a story of what this bird does, which does not seem to me to be credible: that he comes all the way from Arabia, and brings the parent bird, all plastered over with myrrh, to the temple of the Sun, and there buries the body. In order to bring him, they say, he first forms a ball of myrrh as big as he finds that he can carry; then he hollows out the ball, and puts his parent inside, after which he covers over the opening with fresh myrrh, and the ball is then of exactly the same weight as at first; so he brings it to Egypt, plastered over as I have said, and deposits it in the temple of the Sun. Such is the story they tell of the doings of this bird.”

This plastered over ball description smacks of a transport capsule concept (a fuel module perhaps) coated to resist the rigours of entry into the earth's atmosphere with some kind of fire proofing, Myrrh in its basic form is resinous, the temples of the Sun would be strictly guarded and generally huge.

Personally I've always felt that we can't be the only planet in the vast reaches of space with intelligent life out there, it just seems implausible. To back up this theory, the navy has even recently updated their guidelines on reporting UFO sightings.

"For safety and security concerns, the Navy and the [U.S. Air Force] takes these reports very seriously and investigates each and every report. To improve upon past investigations, the Navy wants to establish a formal process so that “such suspected incursions can be made to cognizant authorities.”

Interesting koguntetsu! Reminds me of something similar.

You brought up the topic of the Navy, which reminds me of the US Government and it's place in the study of UFO's and Extraterrestrial life. Obviously they keep their tabs closed to the public, and deny such activity, however.

But this brings me to the CIA. The central intelligence agency has MANY declassified files on UFO's and other projects and/or experiments they have conducted. You can even find all these peculiar files on their official website. It comes as a PDF file, although names are still censored off for privacy, and so are some lines spoken as well. I find it compelling how the Government denies any research into UFO's and extraterrestrials, when they have real declassified documents right there for the public proof. We never know what is going on in those labs of theirs. But anyway, heres the link to their official site https://www.cia.gov/index.html once you go on, you can click library or just use their search engine and type in UFO's, and lots of files should come up.
