Having purpose in life can drive a human forward, yet it can also lead to times of stagnation and ruin.
Setting a goal and pursing it in life, always has it's challenges and also it's rewards.
Having no goals and no purpose in some regards has purpose as well, does it not?
However setting a course to improve one's self, one's environment, one's community and one's future is by far a more rewarding purpose.
Life's purpose is living and what you decide to do with that life is up to you, the purpose one gives to life varies from person to person, animal to animal, etc.
In life inspiration may come seemingly from no where and so to can despair, the universe can be a very complex place with many amazing mysteries, yet it can also be dull and bland.
Sometimes things may seem or maybe coincidences and the human brain like many other animals see these patterns.
It can be easy to connect the dots when you are the one connecting them, yet how those dots are connected maybe false.
How does a painter view their artwork compared to the viewer, how does a musician hear their music compared to the listener, How does the writer interpret their work compared to the reader?
I have stumbled across esoteric works in very peculiar places, just like I ended up stumbling across this site eventually.
I am thankful I have made these accidental discoveries, for they have given me new avenues of knowledge and wisdom to explore.
A man was lost in the wilderness and he wandered for days starved and cold, he was without hope.
As he journeyed onward through the wilderness he could feel his body beginning to fail him, he dropped to his knees and wondered why this happened to him.
As he collapsed on the cold forest floor, all went dark and the end seemed nigh as he closed his eyes.
Yet he awoke to a very new scene shortly after, a warm face greeted him and told him that they found them a few days ago in the woods.
They told the man they felt like he wasn't going to make it, but miraculously they were able to nurse him back to health.
The man was confused on how such a thing could've happened, how was he still alive how was he so lucky to be saved.
Through out this man's life he would go onto think how was he so lucky, was he saved from some sort of deity, was he simply lucky that the other person was there at the right time, or maybe he was dead and this was the afterlife.
Many questions ran through his mind, what the answer was he may never know, yet undoubtedly he would decide on what would happen next.
I feel as if many of you my fellow brothers and sisters are preserving wisdom of our day and age on this forum and even if it is only a small number that number seems great enough that something might be preserved for future generations.
It might just be a coincidence we have all come here, yet our actions after finding this site and finding other sources of information/wisdom are up to us.
Like the people who came before us we all can leave a mark in the cave, maybe at the time it might be arbitrary, but in the future it could inspire a whole species.
It could also be forgotten, overlooked, never discovered or even insulted, but at least something was achieved.
There are so many creations out in the world with epic tales to be told, ready to illuminate those who find them.
I know there will always be strangers in the wilderness ready to help out their fellow kin.
Even if that number maybe small they are beacons of hope for us all.
-Am I alone or am I surrounded by others I may one day be able to call my kin, yet too blind to notice them
Purpose
Re: Purpose
It is truly a miracle to be witness to such a great wisdom that is the esoterism in times like this one we are facing.
We very much appreciate the tale, and we would like to leave another, to complement what has already been stated.
An highly intelligent and rich man was sure that he had learned all the wisdom the human kind had to offer and thus he claimed that he knew himself completly. He held degrees in almost every science that is currently being focused by the bestially intelligent and was an avid contributor to "academic studies".
He judged himself a completly knowledgeable being, until someone said to him that he had yet to learn about the spirituality of life. He thought to himself: "That cannot be! I know that I know everything this world has to offer, look at my life, I am successful!, and that's because I know myself. In the middle of all those books I've read, certainly it could also explain Religion."
The question lingered Inside the man, until He decided to visit a great Buddhist Temple, so he could satiate all his inquieries.
Upon reaching the Temple, he rushed through the main doors of the temple, demanding to see the "Temple's Master" or so he judged... An weak and frail old man came to him, and looked him in the eye, the man, neurasthenic and impatient he was quick to tell to the old man: "You, old man! I am rich and intelligent, immodestly of course for I know that there's no need to. So then I demand you, what is it that you know that I do not? Ask me anything coherent, or even about myself, I know it all in an integral manner, and I'm sure I can ansewer you!"
The old man blinking slowly, asked him: "How many atoms are there in a single hair of your beard?"
The neurasthenic man remainded silent for a few seconds... And ansewered: "That I do not know..." The old man then said: "If you do not know that, how can you affirm with such a great emphasis that you know yourself in a totally integral manner?"
The neurasthenic man then asked: "But how could anyone know that?" and the old man, answered: "Man, know thyself truly, and thou wilt know the Universe and its Gods."
In this era, all we look forward to is to have a good job, a good education, a good house... A good marriage... So then let us suppose that you have achieved all that, you have everything you've judged "good" or "ideal"... Kids, wife, money, education... What is left for oneself?
