Diversity and Homogeneity

Everything in reality has a counterpoint, balance is a crucial thing.
Sometimes we take for granted the wonder and beauty of balance, the middle ground.
The universe is a very chaotic place, and like our lives can be very unbalanced sometimes, yet beneath all of the superficial things it becomes balanced.
I believe the time we are in currently is becoming very unbalance and that it is only a matter of time before the pendulum begins to swing the other way.
Now it might be a long time before the effects of this swing are noticed and human lives are very short in regards to universal time (Yet also infinitely long).
However there are many things that can be seen as unbalanced and unstable in this period of time.
Change and chaos have been part of humanity since it's conception and original ideas have been improved or corrupted over time.
When an artist creates a piece of art he decides the original meaning of it, yet overtime and through observations of others and self re-evaluations it changes
and sometimes the original meaning might become hidden.
Sometimes groups or individuals give power to an idea or concept and are able to keep it mostly corrupted, yet what are the methods being used to preserve the idea.
Are these methods hypocritical, are they harsh, are they subtle, are they violent, are they peaceful, etc. ?
The methods like the idea's interpretation are infinity diverse and numerous yet from a surface view they might seem homogeneous.

Diversity and homogeneity two sides of the same scale, it is the balance in between them that is the most pure form it can take.
The point where all other expressions come from, the first cell if you will.
Does that cell mutate or does it copy itself, that is the next phase of it's evolution or survival.
There are many things that follow this rule and the consequence or rewards to it are just as various.
A homogeneous society might be strong and united at first, but it can fall quicker and faster to it's flaws compared to a diverse society.
A diverse society might be chaotic and unstable, having many rises and falls in success, yet it is this chaos that can create something stronger or something weaker.
Balanced societies to me seem to be the best option, yet finding and creating that balance is an almost impossible task.
There are so many things that fall prey to the rule of balance and imbalance that the list of things effected by it are infinite.

Will we be able to survive this next pendulum swing or will it cause more chaos and destruction.
I wish there was a way to prevent the inevitable chaos that awaits humanity in the future.
However I know from the ashes something greater will grow. When a forest burns down the ashes give sustenance to new life and growth.
The death of a star can lead to the creation of another.
I am optimistic that the future will always be brighter, as we give birth to new possibilities.

Being a simple human being can be scary as we are like small saplings in a constantly changing environment.
Yet as we grow and as we go through the bad weather we become stronger can give shelter to the next generation below us and eventually the space they need to grow.
How beautiful life is and we should give thanks to those who have come before us as they gave us the chance to carry on the flame of life.
I know what I say, do, write, create and share might just be a drop of rain in an ocean of wisdom, but every drop makes that ocean a little bit bigger.

As 0 becomes 1 and so on and so forth, so to does the majesty of everything and yet it is also still the humble 0.

I saw a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, it went out but now I move forward in search of it until I reach the end.

Good to see you back Dracavis, a well written post containing many truths.

The world is indeed in a slough of despond my friend, hence the rising sense of urgency to actually effect some changes with your support of course, life can be beautiful again without doubt, of that I am certain. Restoring the balance, as you say is the key. Looking at the situation that confronts us at the moment both pendulum and scales dish are distinctly weighted toward the dark side.

However, there are some signs of positive change, medicine still advances although new health challenges emerge daily, climate change action is mixed but the spread of permaculture agricultural practice continues to spread and the battle against desertification is gathering mmomentum.

Sadly the flames of war are almost entirely focused on the Middle East region, while the overspill of deadly terrorist acts rocks Europe, inevitably complicating the compassionate attitude and approach toward asylum and migration of the fearful conflict displaced. The major schism in Islam is creating an enormous fault line and is the key fundamental behind sectarian violence. Economies are suffering, borders are closing to the desperate and needy in order to filter out the dangerous security risks, democracy does not exist in these war zones and dictators in various shapes are prominent players in every world judgement day play.

Economic improvement is no longer a valid reason to escape from servitude and starvation, Arabs fight each other and their fellow Muslims. All this has reduced the plight of the Palestinians to a couple of lines in deep down in the pages of news media, setting their cause back by many many decades. Mistrust of immigrants is rife and the rise to power of both far right and left groups because of this situation represent the future political landscape in Europe, Australasia and South America, yet another schism which rocketing discontent will prove hard to heal leaving us devoid of the balancing effect of centrist politics.

But we and all who contribute to this site are continuing to do the 'right' thing one step beyond the stain of machiavellian politics, being a politician representing a constituency packed with human kind should not be a profession but, much like a cleric, a financially breakeven calling that has only one objective, to go do good on behalf of those who gave their supporting votes. Sadly in much of our dictator and power crony driven world this would not be viable a option.

And of course fairer distribution of natural resources, wealth and profits earned on oil for all, until cost effective bio-fuel and electric powered vehicle supply volume reaches equilibrium, and a time when smarter solar and wind powered homes become the norm.

Anyway your message of hope and declared 'glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel' is most encouraging Dracavis, and despite my diatribe on the dark side, I am confident that we are constructively working our way into a patch of blindingly humane light.

Remember collectively, we are the Night Watch, forever searching for the lifeforce light that will illuminate the world.
