YIN YANG AND BALANCE
The state of life illustrated by YIN YANG SYMBOL known also as the tai chi symbol.
Yin Yang are two sides of dualism, it is the tail and the head of a coin, the tail yin the head is yang, they
exist alongside each other, the head cannot exist without the tail and the tail cannot exist without the head.

Everything in this world is a dualism, in it,you can always find the yin and yang..

The earth we live on is yin and the sun is yang.
A woman is yin and a man is yang, sadness is yin and joy is yang.
Generally yin is passive, oppressed and feminine, yang, on the other hand, is
active,bright and masculine.
Managing your yin yang is something that we have to do all the time.
Knowing how the yin and yang energies can be altered helps us to have a better control of reality.

In relationships with people personally or at work you can make the energy towards your advantage
or strike a new balance that are helpful to all parties involved., in most cases we tend to become agitated
when the other party begins to argue, this is natural, the heated energy is yang, when you respond with
agitation, it is also yang and the whole situation will get off-balance, trying to do something to avert
the yang yang balance and achieve the yin yang balance, instead of rebuttal, stay silent for a moment
and see what happens, you are now introducing to the energy field a noticeable level of yin energy, you
are now altering the state of the energy field by lowering the yang energy, the result therefore can be
an amicable yin yang balance for both parties.

This is like what Lao Tzu depicts in Tao Te asking:

Tao engender's One;
One engender's Two
Two engender's Three
Three engender's all things
All things carry the yin(feminists)
while embrace the yang(masculinity)
Neutralising energy brings them into
harmony.

In this instance Tao is one ,the heated argument and silence are duality of the situation, which are two,
when they interact in the way that you manage it emerges the new yin yang situation which is known
as three, the three could be off balance but if you neutralise the two energies you bring in the yin yang
balance which is harmony.
The yin yang symbol is known also as Tao Chi, the Chinese word that means "ultimate potentially "

The symbol illustrates a state of balance which can be found in all existence, from natural phenomena,
social order and to the functions of our bodies.
The symbol is in the shape of a circle and consists of two colours , the black colour represents the yin energy
where the white colour represents the yang, they are opposing qualities of dualism.
In the circle are two fish-like features , the black fish is yin and the White yang.
There I a black dot that looks like an eye of th white fish, similarly there is a whited it as if an eye of the
black fish....looking at the diameter of the circle you will not experience pure black or pure white, there is
always some black and some white.....this means that the yin &Ryan's are rooted in one another, you will
find yin in yang and yang in yin, a factual reality of life,we rarely find a situation in life which is pure yin
or yang, there are the seeds of sadness,in happiness & opportunities in every risk.

Yin yang wax and wane and can be mutually transformed.
The symbol is rounded this gives a sense of continual movement and interaction of the two energies ,although
opposing they are complimentary and interchangeable, yin can turn into yang and yang can turn into yin..
causing a new state of relationship to establish.

The challenge for us in life is to balance the yin yang in things we do , the better we are in finding the equilibrium
the more effective this can be..

Lao Txu describes ;
The Sage who is
Forthright but not hurting
Sharp but not wounding
Candid but not crude
Shining but not dazzling.

YIN. 7+9+5= 21 2+1= 3

Thank you Hope, a much appreciated and incisive Yin & Yang synopsis (the ampersand between is most artistically complimentary would you not say?)

And on the subject of Yin & Yan associated art it is both bewitching and becalming, some fine examples beneath:
YinYang Symbol 3 Chinese deities.jpg
A 17th century Chinese painting showing the 3 deities: from the left - Longevity (in yellow) dress, Prosperity (in blue) and Luck (in brown) examining a scroll of the yinyang symbol.
YinYang Fish.jpg
Yin Yang are often depicted as fish, known in real life to have a calming effect on the beholder.
