The Brain V The Computer

Throughout history people have compared the brain to different inventions, in the past, the brain has been said to
be like a water clock and a telephone switchboard. These days, the favourite invention that the brain is compared
to is a computer.
Some people use this comparison to say that the computer is better than the brain, some say that the comparison
shows that the brain is better than the computer, it is best that the brain is better at doing some jobs and the
computer better at doing other jobs.

The brain uses chemicals to transmit information, the computer uses electricity, even though "electrical signals
travel at high speeds in the nervous system" they travel even faster through the wires in the computer.

A computer used switches that are either on or off ("binary") in a way neurons in the brain are either on or off by
either firing an "action potential" or not firing an action potential, however, neurons are more than just on or off
because the "excitability" of a neuron is always changing, this is because a is constantly getting information
from other cells through synaptic contacts, information travelling across a synapse does NOT always result in an
action potential, rather, this information alters the chance that an action potential will be produced by raising or
lowering the threshold of the neuron.

Computer memory grows by adding computer chips.
Memories in the brain grow by stronger synaptic connections.

It is easier and faster for the brain to learn new things, yet the computer can do many complex tasks at the same
time "multitasking" that are difficult for the brain, try counting backwards and multiplying 2 numbers ath the same time, the computer would do this a lot faster than the brain, as the brain doe tasks using the automatic nervous
system which controls breathing, heart rate and blood pressure at the same time it performs a mental task, while
the computer just needs to find the answer by just being "plugged in".

The human brain has weighed in at about 3 pounds for about the last 100,000 years.
Computers have evolved much faster than the human brain, computers have been around for only a few decades yet
rapid technological advancements have made computers faster, smaller and more powerful.

The computer is faster at doing logical things and computations , but the brain is better at interpreting the outside
world and com in up with new ideas, the brain is capable of imagination.

Some things the brain can do quicker than a computer though.....

There are some ways where artificial intelligence can never be better than Human intelligence.

The world-renowned mathematician physicist Sir Roger Penrose has drawn up a chess puzzle to demonstrate just
that. The puzzle highlights the nature of human understanding and shows just how different it is to a computer.

The puzzle has been released in celebration of the Penrose Insritution. a new scientific institution that hopes to
investigate human brain,creativity and the interplay between quantum mechanics and general relativity.

All you have to do is try to defeat or draw against the computer while playing as "whites" from the position shown

I am quite in agreement with this subject, as a computer is just as fallible as the human brain. If not more so, as humans are the ones that program said computer to function in a certain way. The performance of said computer can be affected by viruses, power outages, and overheating. Not to say that the human brain isn't infallible, as it also changes with age, sickness, substance use, and disease. So there is no way that one can be as good as the other, as the computer can not function without a user.
